With its high-pressure air humidification solution, Cumulus Nederland has the most energy-efficient and low-maintenance installations that are ideally suited for large spaces. The solution has the advantage that it can be applied to any air handling unit. With the installation of a central high-pressure system, it is possible to supply humidification to several air handling units. This means lower investment costs. Don't have a “wet section” within your air handling unit? Then we would also be happy to discuss the possibilities of adiabatic cooling with you.

High pressure atomisation

The system consists of three components that are important for proper operation of the system. When the sensors in the air handling unit measure low humidity, a signal is transmitted by the controller to the high-pressure pump and the nebulisers. The controller, which operates autonomously or via the building management system, indicates when the system may be switched on. With a pressure of 80 to 100 bar from the high-pressure system, the nebulisers mist moisture in the “'wet section”' of the air handling unit. The mist is so fine that it is well absorbed by the air, if this is not the case, they will be captured with the droplet eliminator.

Precise control

Cumulus has high-pressure installations with very precise control. This makes it possible to create uniform humidity throughout the building. This is because the control is built up in 15 steps, making it possible to control up to 7% precisely. In the process, little water and energy are consumed. The accuracy of this high-pressure system makes this humidification solution extremely suitable for clean rooms and museums where stable humidity is very important.

Energy-efficient

By using high-pressure installations, you can save up to 75% energy. This is because Cumulus' installations use misting at tap water temperature. The evaporation process uses the heat in the air. The mist then evaporates in the air, causing the adiabatic cooling effect. To compensate for this cooling effect, the central heating system has to supply slightly more heat. This is much more energy-efficient than an electric power plant having to supply the energy for an electric humidifier. Because of the savings, replacing an electric steam humidifier pays for itself within a few years.

Legionella safe

Cumulus always recommends osmosis water when using high-pressure humidification. Some high-pressure systems therefore have this integrated into the high-pressure unit, which removes viruses and minerals directly from the water and prevents atomisation of legionella bacteria and minerals. All Cumulus high-pressure systems comply completely with VDI 6022, tested by TÜV Nord. Legionella safety is ensured by the built-in water freshness control in all Cumulus high-pressure systems.
