Royal Sens, a leading player in the packaging industry, has been producing high-quality labels for A-brands in sectors such as food, beverages, household products and pharmaceuticals since 1896. Over the years, the company has grown strongly and now has four branches spread over three countries. For their facility in Enschede, Royal Sens chose the Cumulus Nederland B.V. high-pressure air humidification solution.
CAPACITY
An optimal climate is essential for a smooth printing process, which is also the case with Royal Sens. Both temperature and humidity play a crucial role here. Paper is sensitive to temperature changes. Therefore, too many temperature fluctuations are not desirable. Too low humidity can cause problems in paper throughput, leading to jammed printing presses and reduced productivity. In addition, the paper may wrap, negatively affecting the quality of the final product.
To prevent this, Royal Sens Enschede opted for a high-pressure humidification system that humidifies five areas, including the print shop, paper storage, finishing, warehouse and the CTP room. This system ensures stable humidity, which guaranteed the quality of both the printing process and the final product.
Furthermore, Royal Sens Enschede has invested in a higher-capacity reverse osmosis unit for extra reliability. This installation produces essential osmosis water needed for the printing presses, as they operate exclusively with process water. Even if the high-pressure pump is down, the reverse osmosis unit remains operational, ensuring continuity in the production process.
COMFORT
Throughout the construction of the new site, Royal Sens Enschede had regular contact with Cumulus Nederland. The company experiences the process as positive. "There was a clear plan. We looked at what we have and what we want. In addition, we had plenty of time. During the first round, we talked about the current system and the rust spot that had arisen in this.
