Cooling for data centers
Many data centres aren’t aware that they can easily save on energy costs. They are missing out on a sure-fire opportunity for a more sustainable (and more economical) business.
Sustainable savings with indirect adiabatic cooling
CAPACITY
Data centres can reduce energy costs with indirect cooling. Indirect cooling works by misting cold water into the return airstream. As the water evaporates, it cools the air. A heat recovery wheel or a crossflow heat exchanger transfers the cold to the supply air. Cumulus have been using this method for many years because of the excellent results it gives.
For data centres – great and small!
Ultrasonic humidifiers can be used for smaller data centres, whilst high-pressure humidification is suited to data centres with a larger capacity. The advantage of adiabatic indirect cooling over electric steam humidification is the extra cooling effect that adiabatic humidification delivers.
The right top cooling keeps production levels the same – even during a heat wave
Data centres with their own premises can make even more savings. Our adiabatic cooling units use an ingenious water spraying system to counterbalance high seasonal temperatures. This works by creating a mini-climate around the rooftop condensers, which is up to 15°c cooler than the surrounding air. This small investment – which often pays for itself within a year – stabilises the cooling capacity during peak temperatures in the summer.
Avoid breakdowns during a heat wave

We take care of everything
COMFORT
Our specialists are trained to focus on every last detail. The cooling generated must be greater than the internal heat load in the ventilation space. The saturation point must never reach 100% as this will cause precipitation. And importantly, the installation must be Legionella safe.
Attention to details such as these are our highest priority. This is why our experts co-wrote the ISSO 55.3 Publication and why we are accredited with TUV VDI 6022 certification (hygienically working systems). We take care of all the details so that you don’t have to worry about them.
