Humidification for shipyards
The correct humidity is crucial when building a yacht, especially when you consider the exclusive, luxury woods used in outfitting the vessel, and the water-based paints and lacquers used for the finishes. The wrong humidity will invariably lead to costly repairs or the need to completely rework sections.
Avoid unnecessary repair work with the correct humidity
CAPACITY
Variations in the humidity levels affect the quality of woods and timber. When the air is too dry wood can shrink, crack, and warp. Building luxury yachts is precision work, where measurements must be exact and quality is paramount. It therefore necessary to have precise control over the humidity.
Achieve KOMO-Quality Mark certification, or other accreditations.
Eliminate dried-out, warped, cracked wood.
Avoid unevenly-sized materials.
Paints and Lacquers
These days, industrial paints and lacquers are water-based. Variations in the humidity level can affect the drying process, causing bubbles and imperfections in the finish. The length of the drying time can also be adversely affected. The finish can also be spoiled by dust particles in the air. The correct humidity keeps dust under control, and provides the perfect conditions for applying and drying paints and lacquers, thereby avoiding costly rework.
Avoid patchy effects caused by the uneven drying of paint and lacquer
Avoid delays in production
Prevent a bubbled, blistered finish
Reduce the level of dust in the air
Reduced dust levels in the workshops
COMFORT
The correct humidity also means less dust. The moisture in the air makes the dust particles heavier, meaning that they fall to the ground instead of floating about. This improves the work climate, and sometimes even results in less work for the ventilation systems.
